These photos show ferns growing on a very large palm tree a few blocks from my apartment. Palm trees are not very common here since they grow better in hotter climates at lower altitudes, but they do survive. This one is very wide and probably years old. The photos are NOT of the palm tree. Instead they are of the multitude of ferns growing on it.

Most of these were taken on Saturday, 1st of December, 2007 in Mexico City, These pink to white flowers were growing on an ugly bush along the sidewalk. Even so I noticed the beauty in its flowers while curious onlookers gave me funny looks wondering why I was taking pictures of an ugly bush.

Tiny Azalea flower
I believe this Rhododendron is also an Azalea. The plant is very tiny. I'd say it is no taller than 1/3 of a meter. Its leaves were bright and its flowers next to perfect. This photo was taken on the 5th of December, 2007.
